My first calculator, purchased around 1980, for my Electronics class. Has more functions than I ever learned to use. Still works like new, after 35 years !!! Paid around $40.00 (US) for this solar powered pocket calculator around 1980.
Amen, brother. I bought my baby "pre-Reagan" and it has survived a 40-year marriage (+divorce) and multiple late life events. It carried the water for me when I was detailing steel, long before CAD changed the business. It still sits next to my computer monitor for those occasions when I want to confirm how much money I lost on my investments last month, but the days of incessant triangulation are long gone. Mostly it's like an old friend, bringing back memories kinda like hearing an old song does.
Is this for sale?
ReplyDeleteOh no ! I would not sell my old calculator. Still works just like brand new. I think I bought it around 1981-82.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Mine is still also perfectly functional, with the same little crack in the plastic case.
