Compare my three Bluetooth Keyboards with the virtual keyboard on my Galaxy Note 4 .....

Compare my FAVI with my Rii i8 ...

Tuesday, July 14, 2015

I got this nice looking Rii i8 Mini-Bluetooth Keyboard because the keys are slightlyi bigger than the keys on the FAVI, and I really like the White Color. Also has a larger track pad. But .... I was disappointed to discover there is no Right Shift key. The Rii i8 is still a very nice mini-keykboard. Works great. Small enough to carry around anywhere, and the battery life is good. Nice to have an extra keyboard to have paired with another device, so I don't have to keep pairing and unpairing to switch to a different device.

The Rii i8 has a removable battery, which is another good feature. The battery is 810mAh, which provides enough power for lots of typing. Still holds a good charge after using for around 14 months.

Got this super cool FAVI Mini-Bluetooth Keyboard ... !!! Works great with my Galaxy Note 3. Easy to type. Has a left and right Shift Key, very strong and bright Red Laser, which will shine about 150-200 feet away, and also has a small track pad. Lots of different key functions. Fits in a shirt pocket. Battery life is very good. Has an 800mAh removable battery and a wireless adaptor.

Another practical feature the FAVI has is an 800mAh removable battery, which is plenty of juice to keep you typing for awhile. Notice the WiFi Adaptor to the right of the battery.

One of my more expensive gadgets, my iBook G4, purchased June, 2004. Still gets online, although slow. These two images show one of my favorite and most useful Mac apps > Drop Drawers. You will notice many Drop Drawers on the top, bottom, and both sides of the screen. When I click on a drawer, it opens up like a folder. I can have links, articles, books, music files, apps, in each drawer. Helps to keep my desktop clean, neat looking, and organized.

Gear S Smartphone (Samsung Galaxy) > Compare Casio Watch

Compare my Gear S smartwatch with my old Casio 1189 DW-290 T digital watch (around 2008), which still works like new. Features include: Stopwatch with Split function, Alarm, 12h/24h Time, Day, Date, and Backlight. You can clearly see just how massive the Gear S is, with a 2-inch screen, compared to the tiny screen on the Casio watch. Found another cool game for my Gear S, the Sliding Puzzle. I completed the second level (4x4) in only 80 seconds. I use a stylus with my Gear S, which works very well.

Sharp EL-515 Solar-Powered Pocket Calculator (1980)

My first calculator, purchased around 1980, for my Electronics class. Has more functions than I ever learned to use. Still works like new, after 35 years !!! Paid around $40.00 (US) for this solar powered pocket calculator around 1980.

Microscopes - Loupes .....

One of my favorite gadgets, and cost less than $10. This is a tiny, yet powerful 60x (that's 60x magnification !), and focuses clearly. Great for inspecting coins, rocks, minerals, crystals, bugs, flowers, dirt, fingerprints, hair, small electronics, circuit boards, etc. .....

Jim's Headphones .....

Rockin' with my Bludios ......

Early Personal Computers .....

This was my first brand new computer! Paid around $2500.00 (US) in 1990, for this Macintosh SE/SuperDrive. This is not the SE/30, which I also have. This SE SuperDrive came stock with 1MB of RAM and a huge 20MB Hard Drive. I upgraded to 4MB of RAM (cost me $300 !!!), and a 360MB Hard Drive for an additonal $300. I never did fill that hard drive. I mostly used System 6.0.8, sometimes 7.1.

Wax Cylinder - High Tech

Going back further in time ... Probably not many people who find my blog will even now what this device is. This was "High-tech" back in the days. I think this device I have was manufactured in 1903 (?). This is a Wax Cylinder Recorder and Player ! I need to get to get his fixed. The motor still seems to work just fine. If you know of anyone who might be able to fix this, let me know ... Still in very good condition.

Jim's Gadget Collection

Some people will know what this is. I remember watching slides in the classroom with these ancient slide projectors. Sometimes we had audio cassettes to go with the slides, sometimes not. Do you remember these old dinosaurs ... ???
